I receive a good number of emails from folks all over the world looking for useful information on relocating to Belize. I thought I'd start sharing them occasionally in case you might have similar questions. Your welcome ;)
Todd writes...
"I am a college graduate in the United States and
would like to move to Belize for a change in lifestyle and better
employment prospects (potentially to start my own business.).
I
recently emailed Keith (at B-Lease) to inquire about low-cost, long-term rentals in
Belize, but I was wondering if you could provide me with additional
information on what you did to prepare, such as how much of a nest-egg
you set up for yourself before moving. Was it easy for you to find
employment once you arrived? Are there any consulates that I can turn to
for assistance when I arrive?
I only have maybe
six thousand dollars in the bank, which covers plane, rentals (at $450 or
less), and the fees that one must pay to stay in the area. Are
groceries relatively inexpensive?
Any information you could provide me with would be much appreciated!"

I've been feeling a little like Jack Torrence lately since I've decided to put my nose to the grindstone and catch up on a few work-related projects. Some days over the past week Ive been too busy to eat or sleep so needless to say the kids are getting ants in their pants, anxiously awaiting the day when I can put the work aside and take them out for an ice cream or a leisurely stroll on the beach.

| There are many things to consider when expatriating with children... |
Enriching your child's life by living
abroad is one of the best things you can do for them but it's not all
blue skies and beaches, believe me. The following are some things to
think about:

We can help! Follow us along our journey south to San Pedro, Belize
and find out exactly how you can enjoy all this beautiful country has to
offer as an expat yourself. I'm very excited to bring this information
to my fellow dreamers who wish to escape it all like we did! This blog
is for the many friends, family as well as the contacts we have made
since the inception of this dream who have asked so many questions about
our experience. I certainly don't know everything there is to know
about this country but as I'm sure you are aware, all of the basic facts
abound on the internet. This site is to answer your questions HONESTLY,
no subscription or membership required. I'm here to tell you what all
the research in the world won't tell you, what the other websites and
blogs don't want you to know. It is to give you a real life glimpse into
what moving to Belize is like. In other words, the RAW TRUTH. You won't
find any candy coating here. What I think you will find at the end of
the day though is that Belize (and specifically San Pedro) is a
beautiful place with it's ups and downs just like any other location.
Our hope is that you will see Belize for what it is and still consider
relocating here.
Here's to living your dream!
